Thomastik Peter Infeld Bass Strings
Thomastik Peter Infeld Bass Strings
Thomastik-Infeld Peter Infeld (PI)
Double Bass Strings Named for Peter Infeld, who led Thomastik-Infeld's string manufacturing for over four decades, the PI line brings the company's legendary spiral rope core into a new generation of bass strings built for projection and tonal color. Peter Infeld strings deliver a centered, well-balanced tonal core with real presence in the mid frequencies.
Players get a broad, controllable palette of sound colors rather than a one-dimensional voice — the string responds to how you shape it. Bow response is notably easy, and pizzicato players will find plenty of growl and sustain, making these strings equally at home in orchestral and jazz settings. The design pairs the brand's established spiral rope core with a new combination of winding materials to achieve this dual character.

The MOST POPULAR VIOLIN STRING ON THE MARKET.
"Widely regarded as “the reference standard” Dominant strings, made with a highly flexible, multi-strand synthetic core, provide the tonal warmth and feel of a gut string while being impervious to changes in humidity. The sound is soft, clear with a stable intonation and they are rich in overtones."
Big and clear. The go-to for everyone from the orchestra to the Broadway pit to the festival band-shell.
